1883 GROTON IN THE WITCHCRAFT TIMES

*SIGNED WITH DEDICATON BY THE AUTHOR*

A fascinating historical account exploring the small New England town of Groton during the era of 17th-century witchcraft fears. Written with meticulous detail, the book examines local events, community beliefs, and how the widespread anxieties of the Salem witch trials echoed through Groton. It offers rare insight into colonial life, superstition, and the social tensions that shaped early American history.

Key notes:

-Overview of Groton, Massachusetts during the 1600s witchcraft panic.

-Local residents connected to regional witchcraft accusations.

-Insights from town records, court documents, and diaries.

-Portrayal of Puritan beliefs and fears of the Devil

-How the Salem-era hysteria influenced daily life in Groton.

-Reflections on the lasting impact of the witchcraft period on the town.

A valuable piece for collectors of history, and witchcraft studies.

Original 29-page soft bound book with authors dedication and signature on the cover. The exterior has some shelfware and chips. The binding appears to have no bending and is all intact. The author apparently made a small correction to the text on page 29. There is a very, very small "withdrawn" stamp, but no signs of it ever being in a library. See photos. Very clean and beautiful book.
