MASONIC - KNIGHTS TEMPLAR PRISONER IN CHAINS – PRINTING PLATE

Circa 1870-1910

From the archives of M.C. Lilley, this listing is for an antique copper printing plate that was intended for use to print illustrations in old fraternal regalia catalogs.

The 1 ¼” x 3 ¾” copper plate stamp pictures a Knights Templar prisoner in leg & hand irons.  The copper plate was never mounted to a wood backing and was stored in its original envelope. The copper has a deep red/brown patina that only comes with decades of sitting unused. The envelope has some shelfware.
