THE REALNESS OF WITCHCRAFT IN AMERICA…
By A. Monroe Aurand, Jr.
The Realness of Witchcraft in America is a study exploring traditional beliefs, practices, and superstitions related to witchcraft in early American, especially Pennsylvania German culture. Aurand examines how communities interpreted strange events, illness, misfortune, and supernatural encounters through the lens of witch doctors, pow-wow healers, hexes, and folk magic. The book blends historical anecdotes, regional folklore, and firsthand accounts to illustrate how deeply witchcraft beliefs were woven into rural American life. Historical commentary on American folk-magic traditions and the lasting legacy of superstition.
32-page soft bound booklet. No printed date. Original published versions were between 1942-1970’s. It is assumed this is the 1970’s version due to the small original price tag on the back cover.
